Staying true to today’s most underestimated sport: netball
With limited presence among a grassroots netball audience, Nike asked Stereo to launch their first ever netball shoe on their owned social channels. But rather than just list product benefits, they wanted to elevate the gritty athleticism of a widely misunderstood sport with something that would resonate with real players.
We created a social campaign comprising of a film, stills and community polls that featured three English netball athletes at the top of their game. The fast-paced, raw energy of netball became our focal point in a rough-edged and authentic treatment that dramatised the on-court pressures of only having three precious seconds on the ball.
Originally intended to launch only on Nike’s owned social media channels, our client ended up backing a paid media spend to ensure impact spread far and wide. Our audience’s comments lit up social media, fulfilling our goal from the outset to create something that would inspire and connect with real netball players.
